PLAYER ELIGIBILITY: Boys & Girls 3rd-8th grade are eligible to play CYO Coed baseball for a school or Parish sports program which participates in CYO Athletics. The criteria for eligibility is based on a child's residence or where they attend school. The child must either attend school or live within the geographic boundaries of the Catholic parish or program. Interested players should contact the Athletic Director for the specific school/program they wish to join. Contact information for all the schools/programs who participate in CYO Athletics can be found under General Information -> Participating Programs.

HOW DO I JOIN A TEAM?: Any child who resides or attends school in San Francisco and San Mateo can participate in CYO Athletics. To find out where a child is eligible please contact cyoathletics@catholiccharitiessf.org

GAME TIMES: Games are scheduled Saturday 8am-5pm; and Sunday 12pm-6pm

POST-SEASON: The top four teams in each division advance to post season play. The format for the single elimination playoff round is 1st place vs. 4th place; 2nd place vs. 3rd place; with the winners advancing to a single elimination championship round. If two teams finish with the same record, head-to-head results determine playoff eligibility and seeding. Trophies are awarded to the 1st place and 2nd place teams immediately following the championship game.

8TH GRADE ACHIEVEMENT GAME: Each 8th grade team may send one player to participate in an exhibition game at the conclusion of the season. All players receive a commemorative t-shirt.

FIELD DIMENSIONS:

3rd/4th Grade - Pitching- 46 Feet, closer with umpire approval (Coach Pitch); Bases- (3rd Grade) 60 Feet, (4th grade) 65 feet

5th Grade - Pitching- 46 Feet (Kid Pitch); Bases- 70 Feet

7th/8th Grade - Pitching- 54 Feet; Bases-80 Feet

PARTICIPATION RULE: For all CYO Athletics baseball games, player participation is a point of emphasis. The player participation rules are as follows:

1) Any healthy player, eligible to play and in uniform MUST be in the batting order and listed on the lineup card. All teams must bat every player present at the game. Any late arriving player can be added to the lineup but only in the last lineup slot available.

2) Along with every active player being in the batting order they must also play TWO consecutive innings defensively. Please be advised, two innings is the MINIMUM all players must play defensively but we encourage all players to get ample playing time defensively.

GAME LOCATIONS: Various gyms in San Francisco, Daly City, Pacifica, and Half Moon Bay.

COACHES: All CYO coaches are required to be fingerprinted, take the online VIRTUS course; "Protecting God's Children", and attend a mandatory coaching clinic every school year.
