Coaches Under 18

All coaches are required to complete the appropriate compliance process before being approved to participate in any CYO Athletics program. These requirements help ensure a safe, organized, and supportive environment for all youth athletes, families, and volunteers.

Compliance requirements vary based on the coach’s age, and all required documentation must be completed and uploaded to the coach’s TeamSideline profile. Coaches who do not complete the required steps or upload proof of completion will not be considered compliant and may not be approved to coach.

TeamSideline Registration

1. All Coaches will need to go to athletics.cccyo.org, and create an account. THIS ONLY NEEDS TO BE DONE ONCE. Also note you may not have DUPLICATE accounts. All completed compliance documents will be uploaded to the profile on the account.

2. Coaches will have to enroll in each specific sport(s) they will be coaching. Please go to our website and navigate to PROGRAMS. Then select the "VOLUNTEER" button for the desired sport to complete the form.


Affidavit

For Coaches Under Age 18, Catholic Charities CYO Athletics requires a signed affidavit from a parent or legal guardian each season (while underage):

  • Confirming that the youth has not been convicted of any felony, misdemeanor or other disciplinary action that would preclude them from coaching children
  • Granting parental or legal guardian permission to access the VIRTUS course, "Healthy Choices For Teens"

A copy of the Affidavit must be submitted to the Athletic Director and uploaded to the coach's Team Sideline Account. Livescans MUST be completed when the coach turns 18 to be continued considered compliant.


Virtus "Healthy Choices for Teens"

All coaches under age 18 must complete the online VIRTUS "Healthy Choices for Teens" course.

Coaching Compliance Card — Required at Every Game


All coaches are required to download the TeamSideline app and be logged in to their account so they can access and present their Coaching Compliance Card before the start of every game. Your card can be found by selecting your team in the app and navigating to Member Passes. Your compliance status must display “YES” in order to coach.


Important: If you log in to the TeamSideline app and do not see your team listed under your profile, this means your Athletic Director has not yet rostered you to that team. Please contact your Athletic Director directly and ask them to add you to the appropriate team roster. Once you have been properly rostered, you will be able to access your team and Coaching Compliance Card through the app.
