PLAYER ELIGIBILTLY: 

Boys and girls in 3rd–8th grade are eligible to participate in CYO soccer. 

To join a team, families should contact the Athletic Director at the school/program they are interested in to confirm: 

  • Whether they have a team for your athlete’s grade/division 

  • Roster space/team availability 

  • Registration steps and timing

REGISTRATION: 

All athletes must register for each sport they participate in (registration is required for every sport, every season). Registration can be found under the “All Open Programs” tab on our home page. 

If you do not see a registration option available, it means the program has already started or ended. The next available registration will be for the next season. 

RULES: 

Full rules for each sport are located under General Information → Downloads → Sport Rules 

GAME TIMES & LOCATIONS: 

Games are primarily played: 

  • Saturday: 8:00am – 5:00pm 

  • Sunday: 1:00pm – 5:00pm 

Games are played at various fields in San Francisco. 

SCEDULES:

POST SEASON: 

The top four teams in each division advance to the post-season. CYO Athletics may move teams up 1 or 2 divisions in the playoffs. 

Single elimination playoff round:  

  • 1st place vs. 4th place  

  • 2nd place vs. 3rd place  

Winners advance to a single elimination championship round.  Awards will be presented to the championship team (1st place) and the runner-up (2nd place) following the championship game. 

COACHING REQUIREMENTS: 

All CYO coaches are required to:  

  • Create/ Log in to ONE (1) TeamSideline account (Coaches and players may not have more than 1 profile)  

  • Register for each sport and grade they will be coaching  

  • Be fingerprinted  

  • Complete the online VIRTUS course: “Protecting God’s Children” (expires every 3 years and must be re-certified to be considered compliant again)
